Flexibility and convenient corrosion protection are at your fingertips with Cortec’s new custom perforation capabilities for VpCI®-137 foam rolls!

Rolls can be perforated to the desired sizes for easy tear-off of individual pieces. When storing or shipping metal parts, simply pull a piece of foam off the roll and insert it into whatever package you are trying to protect. Cortec’s custom perforations are available on VpCI-137 rolls from 4 to 54 inches (10.16 to 137.16 cm) wide and up to 132 feet (40 m) long. Minimum perforation size is 4 x 4 inches (10.16 x 10.16 cm), and maximum perforation size is only bounded by the width and length of the roll. Within these ranges, Cortec can perforate the rolls according to your custom needs, whether you desire 4 x 5 inch (10.16 x 12.7 cm) perforations on a 100 foot (30.48 m) roll or 4.5 x 33 foot (1.37 x 10.06 m) perforations on a 132 foot (40.23 m) roll. Cortec can also do custom vertical perforations for the user who wants side-by-side pieces to tear off across the width of the roll. Customized foam rolls can be bagged or boxed as desired.

VpCI-137 foam rolls are unique flexible packaging materials that combine corrosion protection, desiccant action, and antistatic capabilities in one step. Rather than applying expensive and messy rust preventatives to metal parts before shipping, you can stick a perforated piece of VpCI-137 foam into the package with your metal part. Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors impregnated throughout the foam’s polymeric matrix diffuse into the enclosure, forming a protective molecular layer on the surface of the metal. Parts protected are always ready for use—no degreasing or coating removal required! This can result in significant labor savings by eliminating expensive and messy rust preventatives.

The countless options for VpCI-137 foam perforation sizes give them the flexibility of being used in a range of small to large applications. Smaller pieces are good for protecting packages or electrical cabinets, while large pieces of VpCI foam are convenient for draping over bulky equipment before shrink wrapping it.  Entire rolls of VpCI-137 can even be laid across large electrical equipment rooms for corrosion protection on ships or offshore platforms that are being mothballed.

VpCI-137 foam rolls are nitrite- and chromate-free and are excellent for protection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as steel, copper, brass, aluminum, zinc, solder, and silver.
