“A key objective of the WB is to support and encourage women pursuing a career in the automotive aftermarket. What better way are we able to do this than through the WB scholarship fund?” said Ruth Ehlinger, WB president. “We could not be more excited with the results achieved at our first-ever silent auction and we thank every individual and organization that contributed to its success.”

The Women’s Board will be giving away six scholarships to female students studying to enter the automotive aftermarket -- three to postsecondary students and three to high school students. The Becky Babcox Women’s Board scholarship recipient, a postsecondary student, will receive $5000, and a trip to the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas. An additional postsecondary student will receive $2500, and another will receive $2000. The top high school senior recipient will receive $3000, and two others will receive $1500 and $1000, respectively.

Other highlights of the day and a half meeting included an association panel, an overview of new vehicle technology and 2012 automotive industry insights, along with networking opportunities and committee meetings. The 35 attendees also received .4 CEU credits.
