Brake Parts Inc (BPI) was recently recognized by the United Way of Greater McHenry County with the Landmark Award for its 2015 donation of more than $176,000, an increase of 17 percent from the previous year’s donation. The Landmark Award is reserved for companies that reach an outstanding level of success by raising $100,000 or more during their annual United Way campaign.

“I am extremely proud to say this is the sixth time that Brake Parts Inc has received the Landmark Award for its generous donation to the local United Way chapter,” said David Overbeeke, president and CEO of Brake Parts Inc. “This award really goes to all of the BPI employees who go above and beyond to give to this organization that funds health and human service agencies right in our area. Donating to the United Way is our way to give back to help better the lives of people in the community that need assistance.”

Brake Parts Inc matched the money that was raised by employees during the 2015 campaign through special fundraising projects, including many held at the McHenry, Ill. headquarters, such as a silent auction, “Jeans Month” where employees paid to wear jeans to work, raffles, golf passes, a taco lunch sale, computer sale and brake sale.
