Participants in the ALI Lift Inspector Certification Program can fast-track their certification by attending the “Five Days to Victory” training event.
Participants in the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) Lift Inspector Certification Program can fast-track their certification by attending the “Five Days to Victory” training, testing and practical inspection event sponsored by ALI member manufacturers at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas Nov. 1-5, 2015.

Five Days to Victory helps candidate inspectors who have passed the program’s pre-course exam complete all other certification requirements. During the five-day event, each candidate will have the opportunity to attend an orientation workshop, take part in a study session prior to sitting for the course exam and perform all 12 vehicle lift inspections required to complete the practical portion of the program.

“Five Days to Victory condenses what can be a yearlong certification process into just one week,” says R.W. “Bob” O’Gorman, ALI president. “Its accelerated timeline provides a huge opportunity for program participants, since they can satisfy their certification requirements in one place and quickly join the ranks of ALI Certified Inspectors working in the field. The demand for professional lift inspections is growing, and Five Days to Victory helps us efficiently fill the need for inspectors.”

The ALI Lift Inspector Certification Program was created to provide third-party qualification of vehicle lift inspectors and to certify those who demonstrate that they are capable of properly inspecting any type of lift from any manufacturer in accordance with the ANSI standard governing vehicle lift inspection and in support of compliance with OSHA’s General Duty Clause, as well as provincial requirements in Canada. The program is open to inspection companies with employees having a minimum of 12 months experience.

Five Days to Victory kicks off on Nov. 1 with an orientation session that outlines administrative aspects of the Lift Inspector Certification Program, introduces expectations and answers candidate questions. The second day is dedicated to a group study session led by ALI factory designated trainers and certified inspectors, where participants can prep for the course exam.

After the group study day, candidates can take the course exam on Nov. 3. Those who have already taken the exam at a testing facility or previous ALI event may start conducting their practical lift inspections. The practical inspection portion runs through Thursday and provides participants with the opportunity to conduct their required inspections on 12 different light-duty and heavy-duty lifts set up at the College of Southern Nevada.

“Lift Inspector Certification Program exams are available at testing centers across the globe, and we host orientations regularly throughout the year, but Five Days to Victory is the only event that offers the unique opportunity to conduct 12 inspections on a variety of lifts in one place,” says O’Gorman. “The first Five Days to Victory event held in 2014 helped 91 inspector candidates move through the certification process, and we expect to draw even more participants this year.”

Registration for Five Days to Victory is $60 per participant and includes an ALI branded shirt, safety glasses and a clipboard. A meet-and-greet cookout dinner at the College of Southern Nevada on Nov. 2 is open to all registered attendees. At the conclusion of the program’s activities, ALI will draw winners for a $1,000 Visa Gift card, $500 Visa Gift card, iPad mini 3, Xbox One and various other prizes from those participants who completed certain inspection requirements at the event.

To sign up for Five Days to Victory, call ALI at (607) 756-7775. Registration is limited to those who are enrolled in the Lift Inspector Certification Program. Participants must pass the pre-course exam prior to the Las Vegas event.
