AOCA selects new management, board leadership

The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) announced that it has selected SmithBucklin as its full-service management company. The association relocated from Richardson, Tex. to SmithBucklin’s offices in Chicago in October 2012.

AOCA is the international trade association for over 3,800 automotive fast lube centers throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and other countries around the globe.  Its membership also includes over 100 businesses and companies that support all aspects of the fast lube industry.

“AOCA is dedicated to enhancing the competency of fast lube owners and their employees through education and training” states Pat Wirth, AOCA president. “Our association provides members with technical and management tools and resources to enable them to provide exemplary service to the motoring public. I am confident that SmithBucklin’s people, their unparalleled expertise and their breadth of resources will help us expand our reach and allow us to provide best-in-class services while remaining the voice of the industry on a national level.”

SmithBucklin attended AOCA’s Annual Membership Meeting in Las Vegas on Oct. 29, and has begun working with the board of directors on strategic plans for 2013 initiatives, including planning the AOCA iFLEX 2013 Annual Convention.  

At the Annual Membership Meeting, members elected two new directors and re-elected two directors; the newly constituted board met immediately following the Annual Meeting and elected officers.  Effective October 29, 2012 the following new and re-elected industry representatives will comprise the new board of directors:

AOCA’s elected leaders together with its new SmithBucklin staff team, will begin assessing the needs of members as the fast lube industry evolves taking the association to the next level as it rounds out 2012 and moves into the a new year.
