Ignition products company Enerpulse, Inc. announced that their proprietary Pulstar(R) pulse plugs will be test marketed by O'Reilly Auto Parts in selected premium stores in Atlanta, Houston and Dallas.
The program involves a patented, proprietary technology with a very small SKU count . The five SKUs cover approximately 75 percent of the automobiles and light-duty trucks found on U.S. highways.
The low inventory requirements of the Pulstar product line is directly attributed to the features of the "Pulsed Power"(TM) technology employed by the pulse plugs, according to the company. With more than 1,000,000 watts of discharge spark power, it notes that specifications for spark placement, electrode configuration and heat range are mitigated.
"This is a very unique opportunity for our company. It is the first public venue for our product that replaces spark plugs with a disruptive technology in the ignition space," says Louis Camilli, president of Enerpulse.
