AutoInc., the official publication of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), has launched its annual Top 10 Websites Contest. Each year, AutoInc. reviews scores of website submissions and narrows the field to what its panel of judges considers the best.

The goal of the contest is to help other ASA members employ the Internet as a powerful tool and show them how fellow shop owners use the Web to improve productivity, enhance marketing programs and, ultimately, increase their bottom line by driving more business to their shops. More than ever, consumers are using Internet searches on their mobile devices to locate automotive service and collision repair facilities in their area.

“AutoInc.’s Top 10 Websites contest is a great opportunity for us to recognize our members for their hard work with their single greatest marketing tool,” says Leona Dalavai Scott, director of marketing and communications. “With an increasing number of motorists finding repair shops through online searches on their mobile devices, shops understand that their websites must be top-notch to capture these customers.”

Judges use set guidelines and a scoring sheet to evaluate specific features of each site uniformly. Sites are evaluated using the following criteria:

            • Mobile-friendly and mobile-ready                • Technical            • Innovation

            • Call to action                                                 • Credibility

            • First impression/visual design                       • Social media presence

            • Objective/purpose

            • Consumer friendliness

Any ASA shop that is currently a member in good standing and has a website for their shop is eligible for the contest. To enter, visit www.AutoInc.org and select “Top 10 Websites” in the left menu to access the entry form and contest guidelines. ASA members, along with the rest of the industry, look to the winning websites as a benchmark on how to successfully and effectively promote automotive service and collision repair facilities to current and future customers, as well as educate the motoring public about the importance of car care. The deadline for the contest is July 31, 2015.

AutoInc. plans to feature the winning websites in its November/December 2015 issue. The article will provide details of each shop’s website and why it was selected for the honor.

The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind dedicated to and governed by independent automotive service and repair professionals. ASA serves an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from both the mechanical and collision repair segments of the automotive service industry.
