SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting ushers in a new era of vehicle lighting with the expansion of the SYLVANIA ZEVOTM Automotive LED Lighting line. SYLVANIA ZEVO products offer the customized style and signature look of light-emitting diode technology on luxury vehicles to the aftermarket. In addition, the company announces enthusiast demand has driven new products within SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting’s SilverStar zXe Series.
Debuted last year at SEMA, the LED product line grows this year with more mini bulbs for interior and exterior applications, and a 4-inch fog light. The line already includes a unique fog daytime running light, 7-inch round sealed beam replacements, DRL pipe and pixel designs, and an LED strip kit suitable for interior applications.
Recent advancements in LED technology allow for aftermarket products to have the brightness and whiteness that original equipment products are known for, while still being street-legal. The SYLVANIA ZEVO line includes a number of high-impact products that provide vehicle owners with flexible styling options inside and out, and have the added benefit of being easy to install.

The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM LED Replacement Lights for dome, map and license plate applications allow for easy replacement of dingy, yellow incandescent bulbs with a brighter and whiter light source. With the addition of new mini bulbs, automotive enthusiasts can now choose from a total of 32 LED replacement lights, with more on the way.
The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM Fog Light adds brightness to vehicles with round fog lighting already in place and is one of the newest additions to the ZEVO line. Available at a MSRP of $100, it is a simple and cost effective upgrade.
The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM Sealed Beam LED is a 7-inch round sealed beam replacement for existing H6024 halogen and 6014 incandescent headlights, most commonly found on older model cars and trucks. With a street legal crisp, white light, it allows car enthusiasts to literally plug-and-play from a halogen system to LED.
The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM Fog DRL is the industry’s first high performance fog light with a “C” shaped lightguide, offering a modern LED look that automatically adjusts to day or night conditions. It is fully sealed and tested to meet IP67 standards to withstand extensive weather and washing.
The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM DRL PIPE kit gives vehicles extra character by providing a light-piped look with 6200K of white LEDs. It automatically adjusts to day or night conditions and is fully sealed and tested to meet IP69 standards to withstand years of weather and washing.
The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM DRL PIXEL kit adds a splash of LED to the exterior of any vehicle with five high-performance OSRAM LEDs in a modern pixilated look. With a color temperature of 5200K, it fits easily in the fascia of most cars. It adjusts automatically by sensing when headlights are on and is tested to meet IP67 standards to withstand years of weather and washing.
The SYLVANIA ZEVOTM Interior Strip Kit is a stylish way to customize a vehicle’s interior. With 16 color choices, a number of personalization options exist and can be changed quickly at the touch of a button via the kit’s remote control. The lights turn on automatically, have five lighting modes and come with a 12V car adaptor. With two extension kits available, enthusiasts can put up to 20’ of LED strips in one system. Halogen-based Technology
Five new SYLVANIA SilverStar zXe fog light applications (H8, 9145, 880, 891, 893) are slated to hit store shelves in 2015. These xenon-fueled halogen bulbs give drivers the look and feel of HID technology by providing the crispest and whitest light available. The bulbs also feature a mirrored tip, giving the lights a striking look, even when unlit.
“Our new SYLVANIA SilverStar zXe fog lights are perfect for enthusiasts looking for a light source that matches the color temperature of their headlight, whether they are using our current zXe headlight bulbs, an HID system or even LEDs,” said Brian Noble, marketing manager, SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting. “Matching the color temperatures between the forward light source and the fog light application is not only a style preference but is also one less distraction for drivers.”
Seeing distinct color temperatures in the foreground and downroad can strain a driver’s vision as they adjust between the two. The new fog light applications will not only help eliminate distractions and provide a more enjoyable driving experience, but will result in a crisp, white signature look on the front end of the vehicle.
High-intensity Discharge Technology
A complete line of HIDs, comprised of six part numbers and increased color temperatures, will also hit store shelves in 2015 as part of the SYLVANIA SilverStar zXe lineup. The new HID bulbs will have a color temperature around 5500K, producing a distinct blue-white color that offers high quality performance. They also feature a signature blue sleeve on the lead wire, a notable trademark for the zXe line.
“We chose to deliver an HID replacement product at a 5500K color temperature because it closely resembles natural light during the day,” said Noble. “It also helps provide a more comfortable night driving experience while giving a vehicle’s front-end a distinct and attractive blue-white look. It even challenges the color temperatures produced by LED light sources, but at a more reasonable price.”
These replacement bulbs are intended as an upgrade to vehicles that already come equipped with HID bulbs. Coverage will be available for several popular models, such as Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mini-Cooper, Subaru Impreza, Nissan Altima, Audi A3, Toyota Camry and Lexus RX350, as well as Ford’s Mustang, Explorer and Edge models.
The zXe series, originally launched in 2010, is designed as a high-performance lighting option for today’s vehicle owners that prefer the look and feel of HID but don’t currently have it. The extended family of halogen-based products, which includes coverage for 95 percent of the vehicles on the road today, eliminates the need for a costly, and sometimes dangerous and illegal, replacement.
