This annual event provides our industry channel partners an opportunity to view the latest and greatest in products and technology, along with an opportunity for the industry to recognize businesses and individuals who have contributed to the advancement of our initiatives. This year, NGK Spark Plugs earned two such accolades.

The Car Care Council Women’s Board awarded NGK Spark Plugs with the business-to-consumer award for Best Facebook Customization of an Aftermarket Company.

NGK Spark Plugs established its public Facebook presence in October of 2010, and it has been thriving ever since. Whether it is to discuss technical topics, share pictures, or to simply express brand loyalty, our Facebook page enables NGK fans the ability to communicate with our company in real-time.

“This award is really a great example of our company’s hard work and dedication towards becoming a more transparent and progressive company,” said Mark Sprague, corporate marketing manager. “To know that these fine organizations recognize our efforts in social media is an honor.”

In addition to our efforts with consumer awareness through Facebook, the University of the Aftermarket has awarded NGK Spark Plugs with the Executive Education Award.

The University of the Aftermarket is the industry’s advocate and sponsor of continuing education. As an extension of Northwood University, the University of the Aftermarket provides key training and educational forums to ensure that individuals in our industry keep abreast of the trends and technology to lead our industry into the future.

At the Northwood University annual luncheon, NGK Spark Plugs, along with distinguished individuals, were recognized for efforts and leadership in the area of education. This award honors one company, each year, which demonstrates an ongoing dedication to the continuing education of its management and management-potential employees. On behalf of NGK Spark Plugs, Mike Schwab, senior vice president of aftermarket sales & marketing, accepted this prestigious award.

“University of the Aftermarket provides our associates with opportunities to engage with industry experts on relevant topics and bring that knowledge back to our office with the confidence to implement positive changes,” stated Mike Schwab. Schwab added, “Because of University of the Aftermarket’s leadership, it was without hesitation that we have made the investment to support our associates continued education.”
