AACF now offering support to natural disaster victims

Sept. 9, 2021
Foundation hopes to 'make a real difference' in the lives of aftermarket families who need financial help.

The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) is offering aid to aftermarket families affected by the recent natural disasters.

“Although AACF doesn’t claim to be a disaster relief service, we will do our best to identify and assist those industry families that have immediate and unmet needs in keeping with our mission to support aftermarket families facing catastrophic circumstances,” said Joel Ayres, executive director of AACF.

The Atlantic hurricane season was off to a record-setting start and is not showing any signs of relenting in the months ahead.

"We most recently witnessed the substantial impact of loss as a result of Hurricane Ida and the residual effects of its tropical storm. This means that more aftermarket families could be displaced in the upcoming months," said Rick Spinrad, administrator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

This season, floods have also devastated communities and record-setting fires continue to ravage Northern California. Ayres is hoping the foundation can help those families needing extra financial support.

“This is the time we can make a real difference in their lives," he said.
