Erie 1 BOCES and Carubba Collision Receive Collaboration Award

Carubba Collision of Buffalo, N.Y., and Erie 1 BOCES were awarded for their collaboration in developing a partnership to aid students. The partnership has afforded students experience they would otherwise have been unable to gain.

The joint effort was recognized recently at the 38th annual Erie County Association of School Boards (ECASB) dinner meeting at Salvatore’s Restaurant with a presentation of the Collaboration Award of Honor, sponsored by Hodgson Russ, LLP. Accepting the award on behalf of Carubba Collision was V.P. of Operations, Randy Pinkowski who serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Auto Body Collision of Erie 1 BOCES.

In addition to donating approximately $25,000 worth of equipment and supplies, Carubba Collision provided students in the Collision Repair program with invaluable resources. Carubba Collision has granted scholarship opportunities and real-world experiences to students, placing them as a true partner in education.
Carubba Collision has been a driving force in developing the partnership with Erie 1 BOCES Career and Technical Education Collision Repair program, and has provided students with job preparation through shadowing opportunities, mock interviews for real positions and paid summer internships. Furthermore, at the end of the two-year curriculum, students from the Collision Repair program are guaranteed a job interview with Carubba Collision.

According to ECASB, the initiative between Carubba Collision and Erie 1 BOCES embodies the meaning of collaboration, enhances student and teacher experiences and helps to further the quality of the Collision Repair program.
Carubba Collision has served the greater Buffalo area since 1955. Giving back to the community is something that Carubba Collision has a long and proud history of.  Several not- for- profits have benefited from the generosity of Carubba Collision over the years including Make A Wish, Young Life, Mercy Flight, ECMC Trauma Unit, YMCA, the Food Bank of WNY, the Niagara County Sheriffs K-9 Unit, the City Mission, the NYS Golden Gloves, the Buffalo Bills Alumni Foundation and the University at Buffalo, just to name a few.
