What do you see as the biggest technology challenges the aftermarket faces?

From our perspective, and in the context of what we're doing, it's vendors keeping inventory and pricing fresh. I envision that over the next several years we'll see the secrecy around pricing go away. Buyers are going to be able to just see what the price is and buy it. There's going to be direct access to pricing and inventory on hand, and all of that will be online.

What technologies do you think show the most promise for the aftermarket?

It's not new, but I think we'll see more Web services technology. In our own business, we're using open technology, so when things have to change, we can make those changes and there isn't all this programming that has be done. That's a huge flexibility roadblock that we've overcome.
