The Automotive Marketing department at Northwood University selected Patrick Faber and Dave Miller as chairs of the 2012 Northwood University International Auto Show.
The Automotive Marketing department at Northwood University has announced the selection of Patrick Faber for general chair of the 2012 Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) and Dave Miller for vice chair. Northwood University students will host the 49th annual NUIAS on October 5, 6 and 7. The Auto Show is held on the Michigan campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland. This year’s theme is “Driving the Dream.”
Patrick Faber brings three years of experience to the General Chair position through different roles within the Auto Show. Since arriving at Northwood, Faber has been a member of team Lexus in the 2009 show as well as captain of team Saab in 2010 and team Infiniti in 2011. He is the son of Joe and Nancy Faber of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Faber graduated from South Christian High School where he was a member of the golf, track and cross country team, as well as the Strategic Leadership Institute. He is currently a senior at Northwood University studying Automotive Marketing and has been a member of the golf team and Emerging Leaders while at Northwood. Upon graduation, Faber plans to work for an automobile manufacturer as a dealership representative.
Dave Miller is the son of James and Beverly Miller of Orland Park, Ill. He is a graduate of Carl Sandburg High School where he was a member of the swim team and water polo. Miller is currently a senior at Northwood University pursuing a career in Automotive Marketing. At Northwood he is involved in Phi Delta Theta fraternity and brings three impressive years of Auto Show experience to the vice chair position. He was captain of team Western Star for the 2009 Auto Show and captain of Freightliner/Mack and Volvo/Isuzu for the 2010 and 2011 shows. Miller won the “Best Heavy Truck” award for his displays all three years and was also nominated for “Most Creative” in the 2011 show. Following graduation, Miller hopes to one day own a dealership. The Vice Chair is chosen by the General Chair through an interview process. Faber states, “I chose Dave because he is the type of person who displays loyalty for the things that are important to him. I knew he would dedicate himself to the show and his position. Our similar backgrounds with the Auto Show led me to believe that we would work well together.” The students that run the show are excited to educate the public about current and future vehicles offered by automotive, recreational and specialty manufacturers. Faber states, “My goal is to make the show both the largest in attendance and the highest in quality as well as more interactive for visitors.” The upcoming year’s displays will consist of 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, plus an extensive aftermarket exhibit.
