Truck-Lite Co. has made a donation to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation in memory of Lee Lydic, its longtime national fleet systems development manager who passed away in April.

“We are honored to make a memorial donation to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation in the name of our esteemed colleague, Lee Lydic,” said John Howells, vice president of sales, the Americas and Europe for Truck-Lite. “Lee was well liked and respected by everyone. His smile and upbeat personality will not soon be forgotten. This donation is our way of honoring Lee’s legacy and is a fitting tribute to a fine man who was passionate about our industry.”

During the recent Truck-Lite international sales meeting held in Erie, Pa., Lydic was remembered by his coworkers and an auction was held during the annual awards banquet to increase the amount of the donation in his name.

“Brian Kupchella, the president and COO of Truck-Lite, helped kick off the fund raising with a corporate donation of $5,000,” said Howells. “Every member of the Truck-Lite team had such great respect for Lee and they came together to raise the rest for the donation of over $12,000 to honor his memory. It was a pleasure to have Lee’s wife Annie and her sister Beth Johnson at the dinner so they could share in the wonderful memories we all have of Lee.”

Truck-Lite Co. LLC, headquartered in Falconer, N.Y., was established in 1956 with manufacturing and distribution worldwide.
