Smyth Automotive, a family owned and operated business in Cincinnati, has been named finalist for a 2014 Goering Center Family and Private Business Award.

The awards are presented annually by the University of Cincinnati and Goering Center for Family and Private Businesses to honor the positive contributions made by family and privately owned companies, both large and small. Applicants for the award have been judged on 10 of the Goering Center’s best practices of family and private businesses.

Each of the 75 finalists will be awarded in groups based on their family or private business status and how many years they have been in business. Winners and runner ups for each award will be announced at the Awards Gala on August 26 at the Cincinnati Music Hall.

This will be the 15th Annual Tri-State Family and Private Business Awards, an event to honor the substantial positive impact made by family and privately owned business in the Cincinnati area.

Smyth Automotive is a privately held automotive aftermarket parts company, owned and operated by the Smyth family since it was founded by George Smyth 50 years ago. Smyth Automotive has grown and expanded into 20 parts stores with 8 paint centers throughout the greater Cincinnati Tri-state area, Dayton and Columbus.
