MS Motorservice International GmbH has expanded its product range. As a leading provider in the aftermarket, the spare parts specialist now offers control units for fuel pumps in OE quality. A market coverage of approximately 10 million vehicles has already been achieved with the 19 new articles. The range will also be continuously expanded.

"Based on extensive market analyses, we have decided to expand our product range to meet the current requirements of our customers", states Axel Laser, Vice President Product at Motorservice. In addition to environmentally-friendly aspects, the control units impress with their extremely high quality. They are also compatible with approx. 10 million vehicles and therefore cover an immense market volume in the aftermarket. "The articles currently launched are just the start. We will expand our product range in the coming months to achieve an even bigger market coverage" states Laser, outlining the company's plans.

As a sales organization for the Rheinmetall Automotive aftermarket activities, Motorservice purchases a large portion of its range internally from the group, including the subsidiaries Kolbenschmidt, Pierburg and TRW Engine Components. The internationally active spare parts specialist also has the know-how of a large international automotive supplier. Customers therefore benefit from products in OE quality.

Technical background

In the case of an "unregulated" fuel supply, the fuel pump always delivers at maximum performance in the fuel tank. As a result, excess fuel flows back into the fuel tank via the return line. With a "regulated" or "demand-based" fuel supply, on the other hand, the fuel pump is triggered by the fuel pump control unit with a pulse width modulation signal (PWM signal). Only the amount of fuel that is required is supplied – this is both more environmentally-friendly and more economical.

With the regulated fuel supply, the fuel is heated less and the risk of fuel vapor locks is reduced. Another positive effect: a noticeably lower noise development due to a quiet-running fuel pump.
