Dayco announced the availability of timing belt water pump kits in South America. The new kits, which include all parts needed to properly replace a vehicle’s timing belt and associated components, are the first timing belt water pump kits to be released in the South American market.

"We are optimistic about the launch of this product line as replacement habits continue to evolve. Dayco recommends that our customers replace all parts included in this kit at the same time as doing so provides an economic advantage and improves the life of all parts," said Silvio Alencar, Commercial Director for Dayco in South America. "It is never a good practice to replace a timing belt or balance shaft belt without installing new hardware. The job is too complex to risk having to do it again because an inexpensive part wasn’t replaced. And failing to replace the hardware can reduce the life expectancy of a new belt. Dayco is committed to providing the needed components to keep our customer’s vehicles moving.”

Dayco currently offers 17 part numbers in its timing belt water pump kit line, covering many of the vehicles-in-operation in Brazil. All kits are engineered to the same quality standards of Dayco’s extensive line of automotive belts, tensioners, pulleys and dampers.

“It is very important that the customer chooses to replace the water pump with the belt(s) and tensioner(s) as this offers more reliability for the driver,” said Pedro Luiz Scopino, Owner of Auto Mecânica Scopino.

César Samos of Mecânica do Gato agrees. “In motors where the water pump is driven by the timing belt, I have seen cases in which the damaged water pump eventually damaged all other engine components,” he said.

"Dayco continues to invest in the research and development of innovative products to not only support our brand, but to increase the value our products and systems for our customers,” João Ramon, President of Dayco in South America. “The Dayco brand is synonymous with quality and we will continue to provide inventive system solutions.”

Dayco timing belt water pump kits will be available from Dayco distributors in Brazil in June. Catalog information can be downloaded now at www.dayco.com.br.
