Create an environment that embraces training in your auto repair shop

No matter what position you are, you can influence training and a culture of learning in your auto repair shop.

Tschanen Brandyberry, special projects editor for the UBM Americas Automotive Group, wrote a blog, “How training can change your automotive repair shop.”

Training often makes the difference between successful shops and those that are floundering. Many times, technicians who need training the most are the ones who are absent from onsite and online training.

Shop owners and managers need to create a culture of learning, so that training and staying current with new repair procedures becomes as much a part of the environment as four walls and a roof. They need to outline exactly what continuing education is required of each job title in the shop. That can be measured in hours or in actual courses or webinars that employees must learn.

But what happens if shop owners and managers aren’t proactive when it comes to training employees? Click here to read more about how employees can lead the way in training initiatives.
