Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper announced that 33 students have been selected to receive the 2016 Advancing the Aftermarket and General College Scholarships. These 33 students were selected from a pool of more than 170 exceptional applications.
Beginning in 2001, Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper award scholarships to deserving students in their pursuit of a post high school education. Each recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship to help offset the expense of attending a college, university or trade school of their choice. The program has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships since its inception.
Among the 33 scholarship recipients is Deanna Hartogh, the winner of the Frank V. Maggio Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is given to a deserving student to commemorate the life of Frank V. Maggio. Maggio’s legacy is defined by honesty, trustworthiness and a continual pursuit of excellence through education.
Maggio was an employee of Auto-Wares Group of Companies and believed that partnering with customers would lead to their ultimate mutual success. Auto-Wares is proud to co-sponsor this Auto Value scholarship with an additional $1,000.
Hartogh plans on studying Automotive Technology/Business at Triton College in River Grove, IL. She is the daughter of Chuck Hartogh, owner of C&M Auto Service in Glenview, IL, longtime customer of Auto-Wares, and former member of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance’s National Service Center Advisory Council.
