The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has announced the release of its new government advocacy website at www.aaiagovernmentaffairs.org. This new site offers enhanced ways for AAIA members to contact their legislators, contribute to the exclusive Automotive Aftermarket Political Action Committee (AAPAC), monitor state and federal legislation and take advantage of other important advocacy functions.

“AAIA is committed to keeping our members up-to-date on aftermarket issues and policy decisions affecting our industry,” says Aaron Lowe, vice president, government affairs. “This new site will continue to provide our members with important information, as well as provide them with easier, more interactive approaches to engaging in the advocacy process.”

For the first time, AAIA will offer members the ability to seek approval to be solicited for AAPAC contributions electronically through the new site. This option makes this process easier for AAIA members looking to contribute, and also constructs a solid framework for AAIA to continue to expand its influence in Washington, D.C. going into the new session of Congress. See the “AAPAC” section of the website for more information.

Members hoping to play a significant role in AAIA’s future advocacy endeavors are encouraged to register as “Key Advocates,” or individuals that AAIA can contact for assistance in building a strong network of grassroots advocates and communicating directly with important legislators. Visit the “Become an Advocate” section of the website for instructions on how to sign up.

In addition to these two enhanced features, the new site also includes:

  • Easy-to-use “Find Your Legislator” tool
  • Map of candidates AAIA supports through AAPAC disbursements
  • New “Policy News” section with Capital Report newsletter and weekly blog postings
  • Interactive state legislation tracking map
  • National and state data on the aftermarket industry
  • “Register to Vote” portal
