The U.S. Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service is pleased to announce that it has granted Trade Fair Certification status to Messe Frankfurt to organize the official United States Exhibitor Pavilion at PAACE Autom echanika Mexico 2011, July 13 -15, 2011, held at the Centro Banamex Fairgrounds in Mexico City.

PAACE Automechanika is Mexico and Central America's most important automotive trade show. Held annually in Mexico City, the event draws thousands of attendees in the automotive industry. Held with the support of important industry associations, PAACE Automechanika Mexico has become a growing platform for automotive business in the Mexican and Central American markets. PAACE Automechanika Mexico 2010 hosted 647 exhibitors from 19 countries.

Mexico ranks as the 10th largest vehicle producer in the world, which accounts for 17.6 percent of the manufacturing sector and 3 percent of national GDP. Mexico’s auto parts industry is closely related to the U.S. industry. There are currently seven manufacturers in Mexico producing 40 brands in 20 manufacturing plants.

Mexico produces approximately 2 million cars on an annual basis. Out of this number, 79 percent of production is devoted to exports and the remaining 21 percent for the local market. The greatest opportunities include: spare and replacement parts for gasoline and diesel engines, electrical parts, collision repair parts, gear boxes, drive axles, catalytic converters, and steering wheels.

In the first and second-tier supply chain sector, opportunities include OEM parts and components, precision assembly devices, machined parts, hybrid vehicle components, suspension systems and pre- assembly components such as small and progressive stampings.

Through certification, the U.S. Commercial Service recognizes the capability and exhibition experience of MesseFrankfurt to organize a world class event for U.S. exhibitors to showcase products and services for the automotive aftermarket industry. The show serves as an excellent venue for U.S. companies to establish and expand overseas distribution, generate sales leads, evaluate competitors, and to work with U.S. Commercial Service Trade Specialists to identify potential buyers and partners. The U.S. Commercial Service helps U.S. companies establish international business relationships. The agency’s global network includes locations in more than 100 U.S. cities and in American consulates and embassies in nearly 80 countries.
