Eight teams from across Malaysia will compete against each other to win the prestigious Automechanika Kuala Lumpur Mechanics Challenge.


Eight teams from across Malaysia will compete against each other to win the prestigious Automechanika Kuala Lumpur Mechanics Challenge at the upcoming Automechanika Kuala Lumpur show which will take place from March 7 – 9  at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

 Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia’s leading international trade fair for the automotive industry targeting trade visitors from ASEAN. It is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and supported by Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) and 17 local and overseas organizations.

The Automechanika Kuala Lumpur Mechanics Challenge is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organized by MAI, Department of Skills Development of Malaysia (JPK) and the Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners’ Association of Malaysia (FAOAM). The other supporters are the Automotive Technicians of Malaysia Society (ATOMS), the Federation of Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association of Malaysia (FEMPTAM) and Persatuan Pengusaha Industri-Industri Bengkel Malaysia (PPIBM).
The event is sponsored by Shell Helix, MAZDA, Unipac and Stahlwille.

Eight teams have already been selected for the grand final taking place March 7-8. These workshop teams will have their vehicle, bench and component skills tested in a race against the clock. Each team must also take a written exam and any wrong answers will be converted into time demerits which are added to the team’s time for the “hands-on” mechanical section of the competition.
The winners will be presented with their cash, certificate and trophy awards on March 9 at the FAWOAM convention dinner.
