Gary Shapiro to keynote AAIA Town Hall

  Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), will be the keynote presenter at the AAIA Town Hall breakfast during AAPEX in Las Vegas.

Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), will be the keynote presenter at the AAIA Town Hall breakfast during AAPEX in Las Vegas.

Hosted by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), the Town Hall, sponsored by Polk, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 a.m. in the Palazzo Ballroom in The Venetian Hotel.



CEA is the trade association representing more than 2,000 consumer electronics companies and owns and produces the annual International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies.



Shapiro leads a staff of 150 employees and thousands of industry volunteers. He is the author of CEA’s two New York Times best-selling books, “The Comeback: How Innovation Will Restore the American Dream,” and its newest book, “Ninja Innovation: The Ten Killer Strategies of the World’s Most Successful Businesses.” 



Shapiro has been an active leader in the development and launch of HDTV and co-founded and chaired the HDTV Model Station. He has testified before Congress numerous times on technology and business issues including leading a manufacturers’ battle to preserve the legality of recording equipment and the consumer battle to protect video rental rights and the right to record.

Kicking off Town Hall with be Polk’s “Five Trends in Five Minutes” by Mark Seng, global aftermarket practice leader, Polk. This rapid-fire presentation of fact-based challenges and opportunities facing the industry has become a popular element of the Town Hall program.
