Lumileds names Chris McPhedran as National Sales Manager for Canada

Lumileds, a leading lighting solutions company for the automotive industry, has appointed Chris McPhedran as its National Sales Manager for Canada. McPhedran will oversee all aspects of sales for the Lumileds automotive aftermarket channel in Canada.

Farmington Hills, Mich. – Lumileds, a leading lighting solutions company for the automotive industry, has appointed Chris McPhedran as its National Sales Manager for Canada. McPhedran will oversee all aspects of sales for the Lumileds automotive aftermarket channel in Canada.

Dave Illes, Lumileds Director of Sales & Marketing, North America Aftermarket, announced McPhedran’s appointment and noted, “Chris McPhedran has a great deal of sales experience and expertise in the Canadian aftermarket, as well as product categories closely related to our business. Chris knows the customers and the landscape very well and is the ideal choice for helping us to grow our business in Canada. We welcome Chris to the team and look forward to his contributions.”

McPhedran came to Lumileds with a decade of sales management experience in the Canadian market. He spent the last seven years with Horizon Global, an international supplier of towing, trailering, cargo management, and related accessories. From 2017-2018, he served as the Director of Sales & Marketing for the North American RV & Marine channel, developing and implementing brand strategies, managing sales and forecasting for the Automotive, Marine, and RV markets. From 2011 – 2017, McPhedran was Horizon Global’s Director of Sales for Canada and the North Eastern U.S. In this role, he oversaw the sales team and managed over 600 accounts across his territory.

Prior to Horizon Global, McPhedran was the District Sales Manager, Eastern Canada for Cequent Performance Products, a division of Horizon Global. McPhedran served 100 customer accounts and led all sales activities throughout Eastern Canada, consistently achieving double digit sales growth targets every year. In 2008, he was named Salesman of the Year.

McPhedran spoke on his appointment, noting, “A core value of my sales philosophy is the belief that you treat your customers as partners and not as transactions. Relationship development and strength of character will lead to mutual success for both parties.  Lumileds has strong core values that tie to my own as well and I am excited to join the team.”

Chris McPhedran holds Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University and a DEC from John Abbott College.
