Edelbrock, a leading manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket performance parts, today announced the availability of its supercharger kit for 2016-2019 Chevy Camaro vehicles equipped with second-generation HFV6 3.6L engines. This bolt-on upgrade provides V6 Camaro owners with a 36 percent wheel horsepower boost over stock while using Edelbrock’s optional engine calibration. This massive power gain allows the well-balanced V6 the ability to go toe-to-toe with its V8 big brother in the power-to-weight ratio department.
This bolt-on supercharger kit was designed for Camaro owners who enjoy the balance of the lighter V6 option but would like more power from the unit. Owners are not required to modify their stock hood which allows for a complete street sleeper look. The unit provides a dyno tested 100 horsepower and 86 ft/lbs of torque increase over stock, raising HFV6’s output to 376 horsepower and 319 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels. Due to its lighter weight, an Edelbrock supercharged V6 Camaro provides roughly the same power-to-weight as the beefier V8 model. Thanks to the integrated bypass valve there is also little to no loss in fuel economy. Edelbrock’s engine calibration option is emissions legal in 50 states thanks to the company’s extensive work to acquire CARB certifications.
Edelbrock’s V6 Camaro Supercharger comes finished in a durable black powder-coating that blends seamlessly into the Camaro engine compartment for an OEM-quality look and feel. The unit features an Eaton R1740 rotor assembly with an integrated air-to-water intercooler core and front-mount heat exchanger, allowing for a low inlet air temperature and increased power. “Some customers prefer the balance of the V6 Camaro over the heavier V8 and for others, the V6 is the economical choice,” said Don Barry, President and CEO of Edelbrock. “We’re excited to be able to provide these owners with an easy-to-install, reliable option for more power while retaining stock throttle response and fuel economy.” Camaro owners can be confident that they’ve received a quality product that will last the life of the vehicle with Edelbrock’s industry-leading 3-year/36,000-Mile powertrain warranty.
