The importance of re-training auto technicians

Find out why automotive professionals need to schedule re-training when they change roles.

Karen Cover, social media coordinator for the UBM Americas Automotive Group, wrote a blog, “Why Automotive Professionals Need Re-training.”

Most auto repair and collision repair shops are aware of the importance of training technicians so they are equipped to work on today’s constantly changing and technology-filled vehicles. Shop owners and managers identify training deficiencies and arrange training to bring technicians up to speed.

However, once training is taken, that should not preclude re-training when needed. For example, when techs take on new jobs or need to refresh their capabilities because skills are not used frequently. Frequently changing automotive technology and repair methods also require re-training.
