Celebrating its 25th biennial edition in 2013, Autopromotec 2011 welcomed exhibitors from 50 countries for a total of 1,473 companies. Total attendance for the five-day event was 103,666, with a record amount of attendees — more than 18,500 — coming from abroad, up 11 percent compared to 2009.

Autopromotec is also seeing growth in its international participation, with the 2011 show reporting a 9 percent increase in foreign exhibitors, compared to 2009. More than 100 commercial and institutional buyers from all continents came to the Bologna trade fair to meet with exhibitors and industry professionals in more than 900 business-to-business meetings, confirming Autopromotec as a very successful direct contact between manufacturers and international buyers.

Other initiatives have helped raise Autopromotec's international standards, including the organization of European associations including Figiefa, Egea and Bipaver, as well as the European Automotive Aftermarket Symposium, a high-level summit among aftermarket professionals.

AutopromotecEDU premiered at the 2011 show, offering an array of speakers who provided in-depth information on aftermarket sales, car service and trade issues. After attracting nearly 1,000 participants, AutopromotecEDU will again be held during the 2013 show. In addition to this, other new initiatives are being delineated, once again with the goal of confirming Autopromotec as one of the most important vents in showcasing industry education and innovation.
