Advance Auto Parts has been chosen a co-winner of the 2013 Best Practice Award in the Enterprise Data Management Strategies category by The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI).

Stibo Systems customer Advance Auto Parts has been chosen a co-winner of the 2013 Best Practice Award in the Enterprise Data Management Strategies category by The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI).

TDWI’s Best Practices Awards are designed to identify and honor companies that have demonstrated best practices in developing, deploying and maintaining applications for business intelligence (BI), data warehousing (DW), and related data management areas including master data management (MDM).

Chosen by a panel of independent judges who felt that Advance Auto Parts demonstrated great implementation tips for MDM in the style of product information management and for high business impact, award recipients were evaluated based on the organization's business impact, maturity, innovation, and relevance.

Advance Auto Parts is ranked on the Fortune 2000 list of the World's Biggest Companies and had 2012 sales of 6.2 billion.

Advance leverages Stibo Systems' multidomain master data management (MDM) solution, STEP in an effort to achieve service leadership and superior product availability by: streamlining their merchandising efforts and time to market; increasing revenue and customer satisfaction; receiving accurate information from manufacturers and complying with the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) standards.

"Cost-awareness among automobile consumers has led many to invest in servicing and repairing their vehicles rather than purchasing a new one.  In fact today, the average lifecycle of an automobile has grown from 7 years to more than 10 largely because of the effect of the weakened global economy," said Jon Dehne, Senior Vice President, Market Availability, Inventory Management and Merchandise Operations, at Advance .  "Advance Auto Parts is constantly looking to create a better experience for our customers by ensuring we offer them the parts, tools and services needed to keep their automobiles up and running.  Leveraging Stibo Systems' MDM platform, we can ensure that our vendors produce the highly valuable information that is needed to supports our merchandising and customer services efforts."

"The aftermarket parts and services industry is estimated to be nearly $200 billion and is poised for further growth according to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).  Despite this growth, supporting the auto parts necessary to keep today's automobile running has been challenging due to the plethora of part numbers, numbering nomenclatures and system "bundles" that may exist for the same part or parts,” said Todd Callen, Executive Vice President of Stibo Systems.  “We congratulate Advance Auto Parts for the progressive way it uses product information to improve its supply chain management but more importantly to provide better service for its customers.”

Stibo Systems gives data direction by providing organizations with a leading multidomain master data management (MDM) solution. Stibo Systems enables its customers to better manage enterprise intelligence on a global scale, improve sales, and quickly adjust to changes in business requirements. Stibo Systems' STEP technology is a flexible, uniform MDM solution that provides a single trusted source of operational information for the entire enterprise. Stibo Systems is a subsidiary of the privately held Stibo A/S group, originally founded in 1794 with corporate headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. For more information, visit www.stibosystems.com.
