The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is hosting a free, 30-minute, members-only webinar on Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. EDT on employee eligibility for Health Insurance Exchanges.

This is the first in a series of five webinars being hosted by AAIA this fall on the different aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The webinar will be presented by Anita Baker, managing partner, employee benefit plans, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.

Effective Oct. 1, 2013, all employers must provide a notification to employees regarding their eligibility for Health Insurance Exchanges. This notice must include information about the existence of the state and federal marketplaces, their services offered and how to contact them.

Attendees will learn the current status of the marketplaces; who can purchase insurance at the marketplace and what options they have; what types of subsidies are available for employees who go to the marketplace; and how to communicate all this information to their employees.

Presenter Anita Baker specializes in providing assurance, tax and consulting services to plan sponsors and third-party administrators. She is responsible for CliftonLarsonAllen’s national employee benefit plans practice and is a leading consultant on the impact of health care reform on group health plans and employers.

In addition to this series of webinars, AAIA members have access to more exclusive information on health care reform, and can register for a discounted health insurance and penalty (HIP) report specific to their company via the AAIA website at www.aftermarket.org/healthcare.

Registration for the Sept. 18 webinar is now available at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/141376656836828928. For more information, contact the AAIA education department at 301-654-6664.
