The automotive industry regards Automechanika Shanghai as an important sourcing opportunity for Chinese exhibitors to show their products to domestic and international buyers. In addition, foreign companies come to the fair to learn the workings of the Chinese market, see what products are available and to look for Chinese partners.

“Our show continues to attract the big domestic and international brand names who see the value of not only exhibiting but networking and gaining more insights into the market with our seminar program,” says Jason Cao, general manager of Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co. Ltd.

Making a second appearance at Automechanika Shanghai is Bosch Trading (Shanghai) Co Ltd who will be exhibiting their testing equipment in cooperation with Beissbarth and Kingtec.  Together Bosch, Beissbarth and Kingtec are providing a wider range of products for the Chinese market. “Bosch is a renowned international brand and Automechanika is a major international event.  It draws both international and domestic business people in the automotive field to participate and gives us lots of opportunities for promotion and networking," says Zheng Chao, Bosch.  "This is our second participation in Automechanika Shanghai and we believe it provides the platform for a broader interflow among people in the automotive business.”

Well-known German automotive components supplier, Schaeffler will present their full range of aftermarket products in Automechanika Shanghai 2008.  These products include LuK clutch and dual mass flywheel, INA belt drive components and FAG wheel bearing, which fit both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. “Automechanika Shanghai is an effective business platform.  It is a very good opportunity for us to improve our brand awareness and to meet potential customers.  We will also show our strength as a service provider so as to lead better service concept in the repair and maintenance industry,” says Chris Wen, Schaeffler marketing manager.

Chinese company, Launch Technology Co Ltd will be showcasing their latest X-431 Diagun product, new and unique to the industry, says Yuan Xiao-Wei, head of overseas sales.  “It uses Bluetooth wireless technology and is the only diagnostic tool which can work on two vehicles at the same time,” she says.

At this year’s Automechanika Shanghai, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and the United States have organised pavilions to showcase their international brands.

Pascal Galli, project manager at UbiFrance, organizer of the French pavilion, says he chooses Automechanika Shanghai because it was one of China’s main automotive events.  “The role of China will be more and more important in the next decade in production and innovation. Our exhibitors are expecting to find distributors or partners to reach Chinese market,”he says.

The German pavilion, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in cooperation with the German Association of German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), is making its third appearance at Automechanika Shanghai and the American pavilion, certified by US Department of Commerce and supported by Motor  Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), is making its fair debut.

In addition, there is participation from important overseas trade associations such as the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, the Spanish Automotive Equipment and Components Manufacturers Association (SERNAUTO) and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

“China holds tremendous potential for Georgia businesses and Georgia offers exactly the kind of business-friendly environment Chinese companies seek.  The state of Georgia has a long history in the automotive manufacturing, parts and aftermarket sectors.  Most of our manufacturers have global marketing strategies. With the opening of China’s market, $1.6 million in parts and accessories, $12.8 million in passenger vehicles, Georgia manufacturers small and large have the opportunity to increase their current sales to China in the automotive sector,” says Sonny Perdue, Georgia governor.

Automechanika Shanghai is organized by Messe Frankfurt in partnership with the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation (CNAICO).  Automechanika Shanghai is a member of the 13 Automechanika trade fairs around the world.  For further information, Messe Frankfurt online.
