Automechanika Malaysia opens March 31

Automechanika Malaysia, ASEAN?s leading trade fair for automotive parts, equipment and services will take place March 31? April 2, 2011 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Automechanika Malaysia, ASEAN’s leading trade fair for automotive parts, equipment and services will take place March 31– April 2, 2011 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The seventh edition of the show, organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), is attracting 150-plus exhibitors from 18 countries and regions — Australia, Bangladesh, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA. Of special interest is a Chinese pavilion and the first ever Singapore pavilion.

A number of leading brand names are exhibiting such as BETA, Bosch, Carleo, Car-O-Liner, CEMB, Corghi, Dura, Ezzlube, Hunter, Ingersoll Rand, Launch Tech, Newera, Novoca, Parker Hannifin, Perodua, PISCO, Proton and Ravaglioli.

“We are also expecting more than 5,000 visitors from around the world, who will view the latest automotive products, equipment and services in 5,000 sqm of exhibition space,” says Michael Johannes, vice president, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.

Commenting on the trend towards “green” [link to: http://search.search-autoparts.com/aag/EUISearch.do? qgeneral=Green&x=13&y=18&searchType=defLink] vehicles, Johannes adds: “This is the automotive industry’s future and the ASEAN region is developing ‘green’ technology to create a ‘green’ auto hub. In view of this, Automechanika Malaysia 2011 has created the ‘Green zone’ which is led by the show’s associate supporter Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI). This is an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to display their eco-friendly vehicles and the latest sustainable automotive products and technologies.”

Automechanika Malaysia continues to receive strong support from a number of government agencies and local and international industry associations. Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), Automotive Aftersales Industry (M) Sdn Bhd (AAI) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd are organizing the “Green: Prospects and Future Potentials for Automotive Industry” seminar today.

  • Another industry event is the annual convention of the Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners’ Association of Malaysia (FAWOAM) which will be held March 31 to 1 April. Sessions will include an annual general meeting and a series of training workshops, open to all industry players: Technical Philosophy on Automotive Service and After Sales Enterprise Management and Collision Repair Theory and System.
