CCAR growing user base, new online courses

CCAR, the Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair, is pleased to announce that 2013 ended with very strong interest in their suite of online HazmatU courses. According to Charles Ayers, President of CCAR, "Interest in HazmatU subscriptions was extremely strong in October, good in November, and again very positive in December. Despite the challenges that came with relocating our offices to the Chicagoland area in late November, our dedicated staff delivered stellar results without missing a beat." "The increase in subscriptions is also due, in part, to an increased awareness by the automotive industry of the importance of hazardous materials safety and compliance," said Steve Hunt, President & CEO of ShipMate, Inc., the company that developed the training content, in cooperation with CCAR, and the North American Automotive Hazmat Action Committee (NAAHAC).  NAAHAC membership includes the major automotive manufacturers and Tier I automotive suppliers in the United States, Mexico and Canada. In addition, CCAR, HazmatU and ShipMate have completed two additional courses and will be posting them on the HazmatU.org website in the first quarter of this year. Transport des Marchandises Dangereuses D'automobile - Canada (Automotive Dangerous Goods Transport - Canada), is a French-language course that focuses on the transport of automotive hazardous materials in Quebec and throughout Canada. The course was translated and narrated by native Quebecois speakers. Said Jean-Guy Chénier of Excellence Chrysler in Quebec, "The translation is very good...reflects the subject well. Good Job."

The second course was tailored for Spanish-speaking employees. Transporte Multimodal de Materiales Automotrices Peligrosos (Multimodal Transport of Automotive Hazardous Materials), is a course focused on the transport of vehicle parts by surface, air and ocean.
