Following a February launch into the Canadian collision repair market, AkzoNobel’s Wanda Waterbase basecoat system will be available to the U.S. collision repair industry in early second quarter 2011.

The new Wanda Waterbase basecoat system is designed to provide an easy-to-use, low VOC option that helps make the process of going green easier than before and at an affordable price point, the company said. Offering simplified mixing ratios and “right-the-first-time” color matching capabilities, Wanda Waterbase can be used on small repairs or total re-sprays.

“We’re very excited about what this system brings to U.S. collision repair professionals because it delivers the same great simplicity, color accuracy and value that our Wanda products are known for,” said Mark Rapson, AkzoNobel’s Business Manager of Trade Brands, North America. “This means body shops can be confident in achieving compliance, without compromising the performance they depend on. And with fewer components to worry about, they’ll also save on inventory costs.”

Doug Holmberg, AkzoNobel’s Aerospace and Automotive Coatings Director of Sales, Vehicle Refinish, North America adds, “The Wanda Waterbase system is a perfect complement to our family of waterborne brands and represents another great example of AkzoNobel’s commitment to providing the collision repair industry with product options that are tailored to their needs.” For more information about the full range of Wanda products and color tools, visit our website at www.wandarefinish.com.
