CARSTAR has been a proud partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America since 2007, raising more than $430,000 for the organization and granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. In 2013, CARSTAR's corporate team and store owners around the country banded together to hold fundraising events for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America that generated nearly $85,000 for the national and local chapters of the charity.
Several high-profile events included:
• CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts of Northwest Indiana held its eighth annual charity golf outing benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation® Indiana Region. The event, hosted at Youche Country Club, had more than 60 hole sponsors and 148 golf participants. With the help of many generous donations and corporate sponsors, CARSTAR generated nearly $22,000, enough funds for Make-A-Wish to provide well over three wishes.
• Kurt's CARSTAR in Maryville, IL, which hosted an after-hours event that raised nearly $18,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
• CARSTAR's Puget Sound Business Group, which put on a golf event that generated more than $28,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Washington and Alaska.
• Special recognition goes to Bob Keith, CARSTAR's director of training and education, who set a new record for selling pins to promote Make-A-Wish Foundation during the CARSTAR conference. This year, he raised more than $6,300, which raises his seven-year total to more than $41,700.
