PartsTrader® and company executive Scott Mason were both honored for excellence by the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) Board of Trustees.

PartsTrader was named the Electronic Commerce Company of the Year by CIECA.

Rob Cooper, CEO and Founder of PartsTrader, accepted the award at the Collision Industry Awards presentation held in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas.

“This recognition is tremendous validation of the work we've been doing and I thank CIECA for this,” said Cooper.  “Using  the BMS standard for integrations has helped us further develop and enhance the product, allowing us to bring even more value to our repairer and supplier community of users.”

Scott Mason, Technical Product Manager for the PartsTrader platform, was also honored by CIECA; he was awarded the 2015 Outstanding Contribution Award.

“Scott has proven himself a tireless and dedicated advocate of building a great product,” said Margaret Ho, PartsTrader’s Director of Product Management and Integration.  “His recognition of the value of the BMS standard and his determination to fully implement it within the PartsTrader system has helped the organization and the industry make great strides in electronic parts procurement.”

Mason is the Technical Product Manager for PartsTrader Markets Limited.  As the lead architect for integration solutions, he is involved in designing the overall solution, down to the details of crafting sample XML files that are critical for efficient testing, which enables partners to develop integrations as quickly as possible.

“As a passionate advocate of the BMS standard, I am humbled to be honored by CIECA with this award,” said Mason.  “The BMS standard has allowed me and the development team to focus on creating an industry-changing parts procurement solution.”

As a result of Mason’s work, technology partners are using the CIECA BMS standard as the development work with the PartsTrader platform progresses.  Mason has been a proponent of the more secure BMS standard that enables electronic commerce between collision repair shops and parts suppliers via integration partners.

In July 2012, PartsTrader was the first company to officially adopt the BMS standard for all transactions originating from a collision repair facility.  In the ensuing years, the CIECA-created standard has been integral to integration development between PartsTrader and collision repair technology providers.  Use of the standard is a cornerstone of the PartsTrader Technology Partners Program as well as its Parts Supplier Inventory and Shop Management integration APIs.

“PartsTrader made a commitment to the use of the BMS standard early in its company history,” said Fred Iantorno, Executive Director of CIECA.  “The Board of Directors wanted to honor the company’s trailblazing path and its contribution to the collision repair industry.”

As part of its work using the BMS standard, PartsTrader has delivered several projects including:

  • Estimatics 2-way integration with the three leading systems
  • Shop Management Integrations
  • Parts Supplier Inventory Integrations
  • CIECA Part Code Expansion
  • PartsTrader Technology Partner Program
