BASF Canada recently helped its oldest customer in North America, the Quebec automotive repair and paint shop Garage Paul Belanger, celebrate its 60th anniversary at a special dinner hosted in the shop’s honor.

Shop owner Clermont Belanger and the Garage Paul Belanger team.

Since opening in 1954, the shop has witnessed many changes in the industry as new trends, technologies and regulations have come and gone. The shop has also seen itself change, experiencing steady growth and expansion over the past six decades in both its square footage and customer base.

But one thing hasn’t changed – since day one the team at Garage Paul Belanger has relied exclusively on automotive paint products and support from BASF Refinish. The shop began with the BASF’s R-M® refinish system, which provides the flexibility body shops need to increase throughput and profitability by reducing material consumption and process times. And now with new regulations in place since 2010, BASF’s Glasurit® 90-Line has been the product of choice.

“Throughout our shop’s history, BASF has proven to always be ahead of the competition in terms of quality, innovation and reliability, just like the team here at Garage Paul Belanger,” said Clermont Belanger, the shop’s owner. “We’ve never had a reason to switch brands thanks to the consistency and service we experience with BASF.”

“60 years is an incredible anniversary in this business and we congratulate the team at Garage Paul Belanger,” said Frank Pacifico, Business Development Manager. “We’re honored to be just a part of the enduring success of the shop and were glad to join in the celebration. We look forward to another 60 years of customer satisfaction and partnership.”
