Axalta opens Customer Experience Center

CHARLOTTE — Axalta Coating Systems has opened its new Customer Experience Center, a state-of-the-art facility for training and education for Axalta customers.

The center ribbon cutting featured Axalta exeutives, NASCAR's Jeff Gordon, city officials and Rick Hendrick.

“I’m proud of what this facility represents — our unwavering discipline in keeping our customer first,” said Jim Muse, Axalta Director of Marketing. “What drives us is the need to perform better every single day, the need for speed, agility and nimbleness. Historically, when you enhance speed, you give up something — quality, performance. It is not the case with this facility.”

The Customer Experience Center is a 36,000 square feet training and conference complex designed to serve Axalta’s refinish, transportation OEM, and industrial customers. The Customer Experience Center boasts two state-of-the-art paint application centers, a collaborative mixing lab, and an exhibit lobby where visitors can witness the breadth and depth of Axalta’s coating systems and technology.

With its revolutionary educational, meeting, exhibit and event spaces, the complex is designed to inspire Axalta’s Refinish, Transportation OEM, Commercial and Industrial customers and serve them with hands-on training.

At the center, customers can gain the knowledge and methods they need to apply coatings and deploy color matching technology in ways that are designed to achieve greater precision, productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • PAINT TECHNOLOGY CENTER — With our state-of-the-art application center, Axalta is using cutting-edge paint matching and application technology to help our customers boost shop productivity.
  • MEETING ROOM — With its flexible configuration options and advanced communications technology, this meeting room can support local meetings or global teleconference calls.

“It is not just about seeing and trying products. It is more about experiencing and learning with products,” said Michael Carr, Axalta President-North America.

Charlie Shaver, Axalta Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Carr and Muse officiated the opening, and welcomed guests Jeff Gordon, four-time NASCAR® Cup Series champion, and Rick Hendrick, owner of 12-time Cup champions Hendrick Motorsports. The facility is located on the Hendrick Motorsports campus, and builds on what has been a 25-year partnership between Hendricks and Axalta.

“It is important now more than ever to take care of the customer and focus on what the customer wants. I don’t think it is optional. And if you don’t think of the customer, someone else will,” Shaver said. “This facility will come to be the standard in the industry. This is what the future looks like.”
