Diamond Standard part certification now totals more than 100 parts and applications expanding over four categories – 24 front steel bumpers, 62 high-density foam absorbers, eight high-strength steel reinforcements and 19 bumper brackets.
The certification process is an examination of OEM original and service parts and patents, dimensional checks for form and fit, appearance, material composition and properties, coating performance, dynamic and destructive testing. This continues to be the Diamond Standard blueprint for equivalent part development with precision and assurance to the industry that DS parts replicate the safety and damageability criteria in the OEM part. Diamond Standard said its reinforcements use high-strength material and an industry accepted roll forming process for maximum strength, integrity and equivalent crashworthiness performance.
Diamond Standard Certification updates are sent directly to insurers and distributors twice a month on the 1st and 15th. Any insurer wishing to be included on the certified parts distributions should make a request through the website www.diamondstandardparts.com.
