ASA announces collision division operations committee

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced its 2010 Collision Division Operations Committee. Dan Stander, Jerry Stander's Collision Works, Littleton, Colo., was named Collision Division director, which is a two-year term. As such, Stander serves on ASA's board of directors and chairs the ASA Collision Division Operations Committee.

Additional members of the operations committee announced by ASA's board of directors include Scott Benavidez, Mr. B’s Paint & Body Shop Inc., Albuquerque, N.M., who is serving as assistant division director. Also returning to the committee are Mike Anderson, AAM, CollisionAdvice.com, Alexandria, Va.; Dustin Eckhart, Hernandez Collision Center, Savannah, Ga.; and Mike Schoonover, Schoonover Bodyworks Inc., St. Paul, Minn.

New to the committee are Stacy Bartnik, A&B CARSTAR, Kansas City, Mo.; Tommy Clayton, Tommy’s Dent Service, Gibsonville, N.C.; Paul Duncan, AAM, Duncan’s Collision Inc., Boardman, Ohio; Steve Tomaszewski, Alpine Collision Center, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Jeff Brunz, Master Europa Paint & Collision, Fort Worth, Texas; Mike LeVasseur, Keenan Auto Body Inc., Clifton Heights, Pa.

Members of ASA's Collision Division Operations Committee represent shops of varying sizes from across the United States. The committee works on behalf of all ASA collision members to advance and promote the collision repair industry. Several committee projects are handled through various subcommittees, which currently include refinish, automobile manufacturer, estimating, insurance and crash parts.

The dates and location for the 2011 ASA annual business meeting have not yet been determined. The association’s annual trade shows – the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) – will be held during Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW) Oct. 10-13, 2010. The 2010 events offer a new day pattern (Sunday-Wednesday) with a three-day Expo Monday-Wednesday. Both CARS and NACE will be located at the primary ASRW location, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
