The fire training will be conducted by the state Department of Labor and federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration employees. The Troy, N.Y., Fire Department also was invited to participate. The training will begin at 9 a.m.

“H&V Collision Centers places a great emphasis and value on safety. This training will help ensure H&V has the safest possible locations for our customers and employees,” said H&V’s Vartan Jerian Jr. “We appreciate the help from our partners in state and federal government, along with our local fire department, in helping H&V meet our very strict standards of safety."

The training by the state Department of Labor is part of a voluntary state program that offers assistance to companies in improving safety and compliance. Along with the fire safety training, H&V has improved safety and environmental compliance by switching to greener, less toxic paints, state of the art equipment, and enhanced employee training.

Founded in Troy, N.Y., in the early 1970s, H&V opened a third location in spring 2010 in Colonie and a fourth location in Saratoga in 2012. H&V said it was the first shop in New York to meet the standards to be recognized by VeriFacts as qualifying for VQ (Verified Quality) Medallion status.
