A late-model Toyota Camry was donated to a woman who is the mother of two young sons. The woman was referred to the program by a local social services agency for assistance.

The donation is the third annual gift of a car to a needy person by H&V Collision Centers. The donation was possible because of Recycled Rides, a program sponsored by the National Auto Body Council. State Farm works with the council to donate vehicles in communities across the country. Recycled Rides is a nationwide awareness project where members of the National Auto Body Council (NABC) – a not-for-profit organization, repair and donate recycled vehicles to families in need.

This year’s donation was made at H&V's new Saratoga location. Obtained in 2011 by H&V, the former All-Star Chevrolet is the fourth location to be opened by the family-run business.

Last year for the 2011 donation, H&V donated a refurbished van to a family whose son deals with severe medical issues and special needs. The vehicles are then improved by H&V staff during the weeks leading up to the donation.

Recycled Rides is scheduled to make simultaneous donations throughout the country the week of Thanksgiving. The 2012 donation marks the third time that H&V Collision Centers has contributed a vehicle to a family in need or facing special challenges.

“H&V Collision Center’s goal is to help people in our local community, especially during these challenging times,” states Vartan Jerian Jr. of H&V Collision Centers. “This important program allows H&V to make a positive impact for a family in need right here in our community and across the country. We are glad to be participating in the Recycled Rides program for a third consecutive year and recognize that this program can help make a difference in a person or family’s life,” added Jerian.
