In response to customer feedback, DuPont Performance Services and Cape School along with R R Custom Solutions will now offer a series of instructor-led and repairer/jobber-led course options.

Insurance agents serve as customer liaisons between their policyholders and their company’s claims/underwriting departments. To help better inform these agents about current collision claims practices and ethical cases, DPC customers desired to offer both an on-demand, web-based option, as well as a highly interactive option of continuing education, which the instructor-led courses provide. The new DPC instructor-led courses were developed to meet state- by-state insurance licensing requirements and the new ethics courses were designed to meet the strict standards that reinforce proper ethical behavior for agencies and agents.

The new highly interactive series of courses provide an opportunity for repairers and DPC jobbers to provide education to agents and repair policyholders as they apply for insurance. The courses also help existing policyholders prevent accidents, and help policyholders deal with the emotions and processes of the property and casualty loss claims. Each of the courses includes in-shop exercises to be conducted in the DPC customer’s repair center where they can better explain all aspects of the repair process.

Cape School is an approved insurance agent certification and continuing education supplier in all 50 states. DPC courses are currently approved in 21 states, with more state approvals pending.

DuPont Performance Services members can either schedule Robert Rick from R R Custom Solutions, who is also a DuPont Performance Services executive facilitator, co-author of the educational material and a 27-year industry veteran who has taught hundreds of CE courses, to lead the courses or a local jobber or a designee from the repair center can be certified to teach the courses.

These courses generate good public relations with agents, with the DPC shop often becoming a trusted advisor on the process, and the courses help the agents to be better informed as to how to advise their policyholders.

“With the market for collision repair holding steady or declining, DPC continues to look for innovative ways to add-value for our customers to keep a steady flow of work to the door,” said Steve Trapp, performance services manager. “This proven CE method should add to our customers’ arsenal of marketing tools already at their disposal.”
