This brings Service King's footprint to 18 locations in California, which has a $4 billion repair volume. The move is one that industry insiders suspect will be just the beginning of Service King's growth in California. "For years, Caliber has had the California sandbox all to themselves. Now Service King has declared its intention to play in the largest US market in a big way," says David Roberts, managing director with FOCUS Investment Banking. "With the capital pools available to the top four consolidators, we can speculate there will be more transactions in California that significantly increase consolidator penetration in the state."
Car West currently operates six locations, with a seventh location opening soon. A leader in the Northern California market, Car West can accommodate more than 1,800 vehicle repairs each month for customers in the surrounding cities of Dublin, San Jose, Santa Clara, Fremont, Yuba City and Mountain View.

Moe purchased Car West in 2006 and was pivotal in guiding the company through its recent growth. Service King, with the addition of the Car West locations, will now operate 18 stores in the state of California.

The Car West Auto Body acquisition will officially close in early October.
