CARSTAR opens first location in South Dakota

CARSTAR announced the opening of its first CARSTAR location in South Dakota, expanding its U.S. footprint to 34 states.
CARSTAR, North America’s largest multi-shop operator network of independently-owned collision repair facilities, announced the opening of its first CARSTAR location in South Dakota, expanding its U.S. footprint to 34 states.
CARSTAR Collision Center-Rapid City, part of Granite Buick GMC and Granite Nissan, is located at 415 East Omaha Street, Rapid City, SD, 57701.  It is owned by Ross McKie (shown on left) and his partner Troy Claymore (shown on right). Ross is a second generation dealer whose family business started in the 60’s. Troy oversees the two dealerships for Buick and Nissan and is the top dealer in the area. “We joined CARSTAR for the expanded relationships with insurance carriers, the leading-edge technology, the access to best practices and the power of being part of a national brand with hundreds of other owners,” said McKie. CARSTAR Collision Center-Rapid City will offer full-service collision repair, paintless dent repair and glass replacement services, along with free collision repair estimates, expert color matching, towing assistance, vehicle pick-up and delivery, a nationwide warranty for most repairs, and rental cars through Enterprise. The 9,500 square-foot location features all updated equipment in a stand-alone building from the dealership. The facility technicians are I-CAR Gold and Platinum certified, and the location is a certified repair facility by Nissan and General Motors. Ken Lammers, a long time industry veteran is the General Manager.
