The event, which raised over $14,000, honored the sacrifice of our military men and women. The outing opened in true American style, with skydivers delivering the American flag, a B-25 flyover, the playing of Taps to honor fallen soldiers, and a performance of the National Anthem.
SFC (retired) Michael Schlitz, a double amputee who suffered burns over 85% of his body while fighting in Iraq, was in attendance. Schlitz took part in the opening ceremonies, and gave a speech at the awards dinner, where this year’s contribution was made to the Fisher House Foundation.
