The College Student Tuition and Conference Scholarship Award is presented to students enrolled in a post- secondary collision repair technology program. Each scholarship recipient will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship to continue their post-secondary education in collision repair and a one-year WIN Membership. Several of the scholarship recipients will also have their 2016 WIN Educational Conference registration fee and travel expenses subsidized.
This year’s recipients include:
Tristen Berlin: Tristen attends North Arkansas Community College in Harrison, Arkansas. After completing her Associates, she will be attending the University of Arkansas to get her Bachelor's in Applied Science. Tristen plans on working in body shops and would also like to work in the insurance industry as an adjuster.
Chelsea Bonds: Chelsea attends Lake Technical College in Eustis, Florida. She hopes is to get a job at Service King after she graduates in November. She enjoys every aspect of the collision industry, but her long term goal is to own her own shop.
Nancy McInerney: Nancy attends Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Crossville, TN. Nancy aspires to a career painting cars or detailing/pin stripping and restoration.
Jasmine Storey: Jasmine attends Universal Technical Institute in Houston, Texas. She plans to own a small shop someday and to promote women in our industry. She has found her passion in doing body work. She has a 4 year degree in Business Administration, which she feels will help her when she opens her own business.
Krystyna Zak: Krystyna attends North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Zak (her nickname) had started her career in an administrative role before deciding to enroll in a 2 yr. Auto Technician Program. After her first year, she transferred to an Auto Collision Program. Zak is looking forward to working as an estimator or body technician when her schooling is completed.
In addition to tuition scholarships, recipients will have the opportunity to be mentored by a Most Influential Women (MIW) Honoree or a member of the WIN Board of Directors. The MIW awards will be presented during the 2016 WIN Educational Conference (being held May 2-4, 2016) in Tampa, FL. Scholarship winners attending Conference will have the opportunity to meet their mentors at that time.
