CCAR (The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair) and Electude are pleased to share the very encouraging results from the inaugural SkillsUSA Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) National competition. MLR contestants at the CCAR Safety Station had an average score of 88% -- among the highest average scores of all MLR Stations.
The SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), held in Louisville, KY the week of June 24th, brought contestants from around the country to compete for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. For 2019, the NLSC competition included – for the first time – contestants competing in the MLR category. CCAR was chosen to build and oversee the Safety Station at the MLR competition. To prepare the contestants to learn and retain Safety best-practice information, CCAR and Electude provided the contestants with complimentary access to a suite of five (5) online E-Safety courses. The 88% Safety average score was not only among the highest scores in the MLR category; the CCAR Safety scores were notably higher than those posted by those in the Automotive Service Technology competition(s). There were more points allocated to the contestants at the CCAR Safety Station than any other MLR Station at the 2019 National competition. Charlie Ayers, President of CCAR, stated “CCAR is delighted that the MLR contestants took advantage of the complimentary E-Safety courses ahead of the competition and scored so high. We look forward to making an even greater impact in future competitions.” Thomas Snyder, Electude’s Chief Commercial Officer said, “We at Electude have known for a long time that our platform of interactive, engaging online lessons are very effective at teaching today’s students.  The results from the MLR competition helps to prove that the CCAR E-Safety courses are best-in-class.”About CCAR: As a proud OSHA Alliance Partner, CCAR is celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2019.
