OTC releases specialty socket bits for bodywork, internal components

OTC has released a set of XZN super-short socket bits, P/N 5942, and external TORX PLUS® socket bits, P/N 5931.
Understanding the need to service the proliferation of specialty fasteners found in vehicles in North America, OTC has released a set of XZN super-short socket bits, P/N 5942, and external TORX PLUS® socket bits, P/N 5931.

The XZN eight-piece socket set features four ¼-inch internal square with 7/16-inch external hex drive bits in sizes 4, 5, 6 and 8mm and four 3/8-inch internal square with 5/8-inch external hex drive in sizes 10, 12, 14 and 16mm. Both feature short profiles of 20mm and 25mm, respectively, to reach tight spaces using a technician’s existing ratchets and wrenches.

OTC External TORX PLUS includes eight sockets in sizes EP6, EP7, EP8, EP10, EP11, EP12, EP14 and EP16 for a wide variety of vehicle service applications. Each bit uses 3/8-inch internal square drive.

“Without the right tools, removal and replacement of vehicle components can be a frustrating and time-consuming job for technicians,” said Dirk Skogerboe, OTC product manager. “Using these specialty fasteners help automakers during the manufacturing process, but require specialty bits to remove them without damage. A set of specialty bits is a must for any shop that is intent on removing any interior or exterior body panels.”

Both sets are constructed from high-quality, rugged tool steel for durability. The socket bits sit securely on a rail for easy storage and effective organization, and are designed for use with hand tools.

OTC’s specialty fastener bits are available now through OTC’s traditional distribution methods. For more information on OTC Tools, visit www.OTCTools.com.
