The Kansas Auto Body Association has opened its doors for business.
The Kansas Auto Body Association has opened its doors for business. This organization is newly founded and has its beginnings from a small group of people determined to work towards a better industry climate.

Their mission statement: To serve our members and the state of Kansas through leadership, education and initiatives that further uplift the professionalism and business conditions of those engaged in our state’s collision industry for the safety and knowledge of the consumer.

They are dedicated leaders in this industry and are ready to walk the walk of their carefully crafted mission statement. The board is made up of President Jeff Oldenettel, Eddy’s Body Shops; Vice-President Tony Adams, Weaver Auto Center; Secretary-Treasurer Jamie Leonard, Briggs Automotive; and  Board Member Clay Hoberecht, Best Body Shop; and vendor Board Member Ementi Coary, Mitchell International.

The first association event will be Texas attorney, Todd Tracy speaking May 9 at the Kansas City Community College from 7-9 p.m. Tracy, who has become an industry icon, is the attorney that won the $42M lawsuit in Dallas for an improper collision repair.

The KABA already has their first educational program set for Saturday July 28 in Salina, Kan. This will be a full education day with David Luehr, Elite Body Shop Solutions, and author of the book, "The Secrets of America’s Best Body Shops," as keynote speaker. Please look for more information soon on their website, which is almost live.

Oldenettel, the president of the new association and an original organizer, manages two collision repair centers in Wichita, Kan. He is up for the challenge: “I am excited about the opportunities this organization is going to bring to the Kansas collision repair industry.”
