Enterprise helps test collision students at SkillsUSA

Enterprise Rent-A-Car partnered with the SkillsUSA South Carolina Leadership and Skills Conference to support collision repair education.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car partnered with the SkillsUSA South Carolina Leadership and Skills Conference, March 26-27 at Greenville Technical College’s McKinney Automotive Center, to support collision repair education.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is provided four identical, late-model vehicles to SkillsUSA South Carolina for use in vehicle repair contests taking place during the conference. SkillsUSA South Carolina is the state affiliate of the national SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization serving high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

“It’s critical to provide students with opportunities for high-quality, hands-on repair technician training with organizations like SkillsUSA,” said Mary Mahoney, vice president, insurance replacement division for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. “We’re committed to helping the next generation of vehicle repair technicians receive up-to-date training through access to the latest vehicle models and technologies. These students are vital to the future of the collision repair and automotive insurance industries, as well as our own business and vehicle service centers.”

Nearly 80 schools and more than 30 collision repair programs from across South Carolina competed in the 2015 contests. Judges tested students’ repair skills related to specific National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and automotive repair knowledge areas, including vehicle maintenance, collision repair, automotive refinishing and estimating. Students will read engine codes with a diagnostic tool, view components, troubleshoot the problem, and explain to judges how to properly repair a vehicle. Enterprise provided vehicles for the masking and refinish preparation portion of the contest.

Enterprise’s commitment to the future of the collision repair industry extends beyond the SkillsUSA partnership. In fact, Enterprise Rent-A-Car recently provided vehicles for the grand opening of a new collision repair education school at Fayetteville Technical Community College in North Carolina, and gave $65,000 to the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

Enterprise has been partnering with repair centers and insurance companies for more than 50 years to help customers whose cars have been damaged or stolen. With more than 5,500 fully staffed airport and neighborhood offices located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand is ideally positioned to provide replacement rentals to customers of collision repair centers and insurance companies throughout the country.
